NEW SERIALIZED STORY -- THE BLACK SQUIRREL:
Part adventure and part myth with tradional Abenaki Indian tales linked to modern
environmental issues and a native boy's attempts to save the nearby forest.
DATES: Thursdays, beginning January 21 through May 6. Grade Level: 4-8

THE CLASSROOM CHIEFTAIN: This very special
section, written entirely by students, comes out in The Pueblo Chieftain
on Friday, may 7. Students submit entries in Expository writing, persuasive
wiriting, narrative writing, decribtive writing, cartooning as well as ad and
cover designs.
DATES: Lessons appear in The Pueblo Chieftain February 8-12. Entries
due March 4.
