NEWSPAPER IN EDUCATION FALL 2008 PROGRAMS
The Pueblo Chieftain's Newspapers in Education Program offers excellent teaching resources that meet Colorado Content Standards and challenge your students to read, think and learn with the newspaper as their authentic informational text. Thanks to our generous sponsors, these programs are FREE!
ADOPT-A-CLASS: Our department will find a sponsor to provide 30 newspapers a week for 30 weeks of the school year! Adopt-A-Class teachers receive a free resource to help use with the newspaper. No Cost: thanks to sponsors
CELEBRATE THE CONSTITUTION: You'll receive 30 copies of The Pueblo Chieftain on September 11 containing a full color flag page. The back of the page contains a wealth of information (and activities) about the document that created our nation. Secondary teachers will also receive a resource appropriate for their student.

ELECTION 2008 : The newspaper is the best source of up-to-date information about the 2008 national election! Your will recieve nespapers on Oct 17, 24, 31 (each issue will contain a feature written for students), as well the Chieftain's special election tabloid on Nov. 3 nd election results on Nov. 5. Your students can collot the excitment, and they can vote in our mock election No Cost
GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK: Enhance your students' understanding of geographic concepts with five in-paper geography lessons, November 10-14. Receive 30 copies of The Chieftain each day with reproducible worksheets for each lesson.
