Welcome to the Newspapers in Education (NIE) program at The Pueblo Chieftain. Jacquie Huffaker and Suzie Simons staff this department on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays twelve months a year.

We are committed to promoting education and literacy in southern Colorado by providing high quality educational materials and training that support the use of The Pueblo Chieftain as a teaching resource. Because the newspaper makes a vital connection between the classroom and the real world, it can motivate students and lead to a lifelong reading habit.

Our services include curriculum, workshops, sponsored newspapers, tours and more. We are eager to serve you and your students in this cooperative effort between schools and newspapers.
